   Tamil Nadu withdraws order exempting Law and Order department from RTI²³⁴

   G.O. Ms. No. 57 of 21 September used Section 24(4) of the RTI Act but was revoked on 27 September.

   • G.O. Ms. No. 57 dated 21 September 2026, issued by the HR Management Department under Section 24(4) of the RTI Act
   • Revoked on 27 September 2026 after criticism from the opposition and allies
   • Sec 24(4) allows states to exempt intelligence and security organisations
