   Appointments

   Srinivasa Kumar Tummala appointed Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences³

   The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet appointed Dr Srinivasa Kumar Tummala, head of the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System secretariat (UNESCO-IOC, Perth), as Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, on a two-year term (PIB, 16 July 2026). He was earlier Director of INCOIS from August 2020 and managed the setting up of India's Tsunami Early Warning System after 2004; he succeeds M. Ravichandran.
