   Mizoram strawberry farmer honoured by FAO as one of 100 Women Heroes²³

   Mari ZT Lalrithangi was recognised at the World Food Forum in Rome; Maharashtra's Priyanka Mahesh Shelke was the other Indian awardee.

   • Z T Lalrithangi (Pi Mari-i) of Sangau, Lawngtlai district, Mizoram, honoured as one of FAO's 100 Women Heroes in Rome in mid-October 2026
   • First Mizo woman to get it; chosen from over 600 nominees in 131 countries; two Indian women selected
   • Began strawberry farming in 2024; grows over 10,000 plants on two hectares
   • Linked to 2026 International Year of the Woman Farmer
